Made between 1974 and 2012, mostly in France and Europe, these images answer a wish to mix instants and places with no apparent connection, in a kind of automatic writing close to the Surrealists, opening with a quotation from Pascal Quignard: the visible is not enough to understand what is seen, the visible is interpreted only by reference to the invisible. Photography often speaks of something other than what is visible in the frame; the invisible, our imagination, memories and desires disturb and filter this "reality" until we end up seeing something other than what was photographed, revealing a strange, slightly absurd world where horses spit clouds, a seal escapes a pram, and an empty street watches a parade of sheep pass by, proof that all this exists, right here.
