Arranged in series, these new photographs share a singular context that reveals the strangeness of the world the artist chooses to show, each image methodically dismantling its surrounding universe. Combat, competition, greed and consumption recur as themes, their human activity disembodied under the spectre of existential emptiness, as she explores her favourite subject, the world of games, through racing punters, cockfights, video games or wrestlers caught in an almost minimalist sequence, abandoned-looking bodies on the ground, bruised and oddly posed, like brightly lit sleepers that no light can wake.
