Garde-fou explores the relationship between experience and photography, future and memory. Franck Déglise's images form a tight weave that gives consistency to time and, like a net, captures its duration, following lines of emerging and receding meaning that pierce the image, get stuck in the material and resurface, until the eye of a black-and-white portrait echoes the blue of a heavy mass of water, between an X-ray and a screenshot. Across a muted lived experience, the photography exposes itself to the experience of the absurd, with the photographer endlessly trying to recapture meaning and reproduce its own collapses to reveal its extreme fragility.
