From Florida to Cuba is Marion Dubier-Clark's third journey through the United States, after From New York to New Orleans and From San Francisco to Los Angeles. More drawn to cities and their inhabitants than to open landscapes, she confronts American myth with reality: faded billboards, painted murals of yesterday's heroes, palm trees, bleached facades, and improbable characters such as a couple in outdated colourful outfits or an old lady in a dated hat. Too good to be true? And yet it all exists, each photograph a fragment of a vast, Prévert-like inventory that detonates the imagination.
