Bataille à perte de vue, Philippe Sollers, l'isolé absolu and Artaud cité, atrocités were three films made for the television series Un siècle d'écrivains. This book records how filmmaker André S. Labarthe approached these three twentieth-century writers, lucid subversives each in their own way, highlighting his own reading of their work and the chance connections between them, with photographer Patrick Messina acting as a close witness who accompanied the filmmaker to the places of research, encounter and filming, including Massais and the rue Ramey apartment in Paris.
