Nine placid, unpopulated swimming pools are presented one to a spread in flat color, evenly lit and devoid of bathers, followed at the very end by a single image of a shattered drinking glass on a hard floor. The abrupt shift from calm, static water to sudden breakage reframes the preceding sequence, turning an ordinary suburban amenity into a quiet meditation on stillness interrupted.
