Made for the site-specific exhibition at Photology in Milan, with a text by Corrado Benigni. The retablo — the carved and painted altarpiece of the southern churches, a structure that holds many small scenes inside one frame — becomes the model for a way of building the picture: not one image but a compartmented assembly, in which each cell holds its own scene and the whole is read the way an altarpiece is read.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
