Edited by Enrico De Pascale

Fruit of research begun in Venice in the nineteen-sixties and carried on to the present, this volume presents for the first time a selection of the most important projects of its author. Its purpose is to sum up the whole arc of an experience in photography and in art that is unique of its kind and that Cresci has always kept alive, over the years, through writings and theoretical essays and through an intense activity of organising cultural events devoted to young Italian art. He is among the most important Italian authors to have marked the history of research in the medium at home and abroad, opening it to fertile intersections with the transversal knowledge of art and visual communication from the nineteen-sixties onward. Presented in chronological order, the pictures give back fragments of a life, of artistic thought and of the conceptual shifts the artist has gone through in his long years of activity.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
