"This is the story of three houses, three women and three bedrooms. The houses stand in the same street. At my parents' I have a separate room with a big wardrobe. At the neighbours' there are two bedrooms, a large one and a small one. Sometimes we sleep in the same bed. I have a recurring dream: I cannot tidy my room at my parents' house, nor find my clothes. They must be in one of the three bedrooms." Working as always with cut-out images found in old magazines, De Blauwer assembles the fragments into a private story.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
