The mystic atmosphere of Knit Club is there from the cover on: the worn look, the mould-green stained edges, a book that could easily be mistaken for something found. Drake photographed a group of women in Mississippi who meet as a knitting club and whose real business is less easy to name, and she made the pictures with them rather than of them. Sarah Meister: the seductive quality of the images, the different modes of shooting and the multiplicity of subjects make for a very good experience of the photobook.
