Landscape, scene, reality, illusion. Colours, darkness, peering and observing. The series mixes natural and artificial settings so intrinsically that it generates new, pseudo places that affect perception through their degree of reality.

The essay looks at the appropriation and confinement of nature by people, and at the displacement of terrain through the human unconscious. Pedrosa trained across biology, tropical ecology and visual communication, and her research addresses the limits between nature and simulacrum.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
