Four months after the return of RVM Magazine with the Redo Issue, the magazine of photography and other narratives published by RVM Hub presents the White Issue, its second number, entirely devoted to the colour white. White is the leitmotif and the object of study of the issue, through which the editors continue their mixing of documentary photography with other expressive forms, starting from the cover artwork by Sunday Büro. Alongside the five Projects the magazine-book carries four new short stories and one spoken word piece, texts inspired by the work of the photographers and then taking on an independence of their own. The issue opens with a new column, Bridges, a link between one number and the next built on chromatic echoes and visual games. The five photographic projects range from white supremacism to the ritual of breastfeeding, from photographic and other kinds of “exposure” to the night people of China and the fishermen of Kazakhstan. Equally varied are the styles and worlds of the five writers involved. Among the columns are The Observatory, born from a collaboration with the geopolitical review Limes, on the impoverishment of the American middle class; an interview column; an essay on knowledge and illumination through overexposed urban landscapes; a look at the last contact sheets of a great photojournalist; an atlas of figurative memory pairing the Italian Dolomites and the Danakil; a review of a project on identity taken away from a people; and a closing column on cinema and photography.
