The monograph, which Germano Celant worked on before his death and which appears posthumously with an introduction by Carlos Basualdo, is the first to retrace systematically the life and career of Claudio Abate (1943-2017).

It offers a historical and critical reading of his work, documented through an illustrated chronology, unpublished material, texts and quotations. Abate's production ranges from frames of works, artists and exhibitions of Arte Povera to the Italian and international exhibition scene, and further to theatre, fashion, custom and current affairs.
