The volume gathers seventy-seven frames made by Gabriele Basilico (1944-2013) between 1978 and 2012, covering almost the whole of the Milanese maker's path.

Taking its title from a well-known story by Edmondo De Amicis, it offers an account in pictures that starts from Italy and reaches South America, speaking of the world from the ancient to the contemporary and drawing with the camera the spaces, the volumes and the forms of architecture.
