This book creates a link between the photographer's mother and Japan. The graphic project aims to build an intimate relationship with the reader, inviting them to look at it close up and alone. Binding it on its shorter side generates vertical openings, so that the reader makes large gestures when turning the pages, as if crossing bridges. A serrated line runs throughout, a scar that lets each picture stand out: by tearing the perforation and removing a picture, new and previously impossible combinations are generated, new bridges between images.
