On a rainy autumn night Maxwell Anderson attended the Downside do-it-yourself skatepark in Tottenham Hale for their halloween skate jam. Such parks have become more popular and more professionally built than ever before, with Downside being one of London's best, developed under the shelter of a dual carriageway overpass. The trustees encourage inclusivity and it attracts one of the most diverse and welcoming environments in the skateboarding community, often providing workshops on park building skills and actively supporting people who want to get involved. On 31 October 2025 the community held the jam, with bands, disc jockeys and giveaways.
