Maxwell Anderson accumulated these pictures of flowers over six years. His choices are deliberately awkward and unceremonious. In the book he combines his snapshots of common blooms with equally common and often inane human interpretations of them and interactions with them. His interest lies in the everyday relationship between people and flowers, the attraction to them and their use as fashion accessories.

The book is three hole sewn, bound in a textured, fibrous cover material which emulates pressed petals, wrapped by a yellow partial sleeve with clear foil blocking on the front.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
