On a collage of over 200 albumen prints, 300 x 250 cm
From wet collodion negatives

The volume records the complicated restoration of a great collage of albumen prints (300 x 250 cm, more than two hundred pieces) reproducing the façade of the church of the Miracoli in Brescia, made by Giacomo Rossetti (1807-1882) — a unique example of the medium used to record architecture.

The collage was assembled from frames obtained with the help of scaffolding and with particular care to keep an exact scale of reduction; the albumen prints, drawn from wet collodion negatives, were pasted onto a canvas, and the joins were resolved with partial overlaps and with painted retouching.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
