The book presents an unpublished work, Gated Community, commissioned from the American artist and inspired by the pauper paintings of Giacomo Ceruti. The project won the national call Strategia Fotografia 2022.

The commission is an occasion to rest one's eye on the poverty of our own day, surrounded by an ostentation of wealth that stands in sharp contrast with pressing needs felt across the world and increasingly urgent in Western society too. As in Ceruti's work, poverty here is neither stereotyped nor put on display.
