1992 is the year of the massacres; Palermo is stunned by grief and by anger at the bombs that tore from their families and from the country men and women of the institutions — magistrates, policemen, ordinary citizens. Palermo reacts, and among the several forms of protest against the violence of the mafia one is particularly strong: for a month eleven women occupied a square on hunger strike.
