For Cortázar the story is emotion condensed into a few pages. There is no room for anything gratuitous. A writer of stories has to see that every event carries a precise meaning, that all of them work to stir sensibility, feeling and knowledge in the reader. A story does not reveal everything: it shows only a small part of what it has to show. Then there is all the rest, the unsaid, and the real charm lies in that game — in the weight the unsaid takes on in the balance of the whole. So if that is how a writer proceeds, what does a photographer do differently in offering us a story of his own? Practically nothing.” — Massimo Siragusa
