How can the Mediterranean, a complicated space, be shown through the devices of art? How can the body and its gestures connect with artistic research and be transformed inside the space circumscribed by the surface of the sea? In relation to that watery surface, how does the medium change, and what part does artistic research now play in our understanding of the world?

Those questions, which drove the work from the start, let Oliana explore the Mediterranean both as a subject and as a metaphorical ground of enquiry — not through art but together with it. The sense of research-creation, or of research carried out with art, is to reveal a weave, a warp and a weft that runs from one's own work through the work of others; those threads cross with many other intuitions.
