The largest issue of the series to that date, with new work made the previous year on a journey through Taiwan.

“In early summer last year I travelled from Kaohsiung, more than four hundred kilometres in all, between Tainan, Chiayi, Taichung, Taipei and Keelung, to shoot my first on-the-road pictures in a long time. They were intended for a Taiwanese edition of Tips for Street Snaps, published in May by the Taipei house Big Art Press. This twenty-eighth issue is in a way an alternative Tips for Street Snaps, made up of what was taken for that edition but didn't make it in. The various cities and villages I passed through, and the sights of people and landscapes along the road, rekindled all kinds of memories as I captured them on film, while at the same time implanting a lot of new ones in my mind.”
