“I like withered flowers. However I do feel that they are actually dead as soon as they are cut from the stem, or taken out of the soil they grew from: so even the prettiest arrangement consists of dead flowers already on the road to decay. Speaking of decay, this naturally reminds me that decay is what we are bound for as well, and when applying the image of a flower to myself as someone who has already begun to wither, I could probably say that I am now disconnected from my soil too.”

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
