A series of a hundred frames made between 1976 and 1978 in Tokyo. Forty-nine of them appeared in a magazine in November 1978, and around the same time all hundred prints were shown at a gallery in Shinjuku and Ginza.
“Just as there exists no flower that has no name, there are no nameless human beings in reality. If we consider the figures our history books tell us about as protagonists, most people are reduced to mere supporting actors; but a slight change of perspective will present them as the subjects of their own unique histories. While seemingly buried in the casualness of daily life, all of them carry their own individual power and toughness, concealed deep within. That is exactly how revolutions used to happen, initiated by such ordinary citizens. Their time may have been just a passing moment that is long gone, but I still feel the repercussions of their existence today.”
