The Jan Mulder Collection presents its first catalog of contemporary photography. Working in conjunction with Marta Gili (Director of the National School of Photography of Arles in France), who also participates with a prologue text, the catalog presents a selection of 80 contemporary photographers from 20 different nationalities.

This volume is presented as a journey in which the viewer will be able to identify the different facets of the lesson, taking as a starting point Robert Frank’s visit to Peru in 1948.

François Hébel (Director of the Cartier-Bresson Foundation in Paris) and Jan Mulder also participate with introductory texts, which project a more personal and intimate view of the collection.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
