These photographs do not seek to reconstruct the past, but to address the present and reveal how unresolved histories continue to resonate today. This two-volume publication presents the results of an extensive research and curatorial project dedicated to the recovery, cataloguing, analysis and dissemination of photographic work on the Spanish Civil War published between 1999 and 2025. More than 120 publications are now held in the Spanish Civil War Photographic Memory Archive, which has been exhibited in multiple cities across Spain and Europe, with a particular focus on contemporary photobooks.
