In 2015 and 2016 the culture department of the Metropolitan District of Quito invited photographers from Ecuador and abroad — among them Marcos López, Ricardo Cases, Jorge Chiguano and Edu León — to work together in a series of workshops on the images a city makes of itself. Fluz Quito is what came out of them, edited by Pablo Ortiz Monasterio and Claudi Carreras: a book meant to be read differently at each turn, in which the real city and its imagined structures keep slipping out of place. RM published it in 2016 as a 160-page softcover in Spanish and English.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
