For fifty years, Renate von Mangoldt has turned her camera on the world of literature as a contemporary witness. Her black and white photographs of writers have long since become part of the visual memory. She photographed many of these people again and again. Now she presents these images as leaps in time: an early photo is juxtaposed with a later one. In between lie the years that have passed. It could be fifty, forty, thirty or just twenty years.
