This book brings together photographic leaps in time in gripping pairings full of humor and melancholy. The black and white photographs from West Berlin in the 1970s and 1980s are juxtaposed with color photographs from 2021 to 2023 in the reunified city: street photography in the best sense, taken in the middle of the rush of passers-by, changing moments and motifs. Actually photographed again in the same place, usually freely improvising on a black and white theme. But people are always the focus of Renate von Mangoldt's photographs, who made a name for herself primarily as a portrait photographer of writers. Berlin Revisited includes, among other things, an essay by the poet and political scientist Brigitte Oleschinski.
