So goes a Sienese adage, “Oh how beautiful is the Piazza di Siena surrounded by ten jockeys going for the ride they are ten assassins…” and taking inspiration from this, Marco Delogu, in this volume, presents a group portrait, personal and original of the jockeys of the Palio of Siena. With texts by Massimo Reale and Alessandro Falassi, the pictures of the Thirty Assassins look at us and the expressive faces fade and melt into the background, which is black or white, just like the Balzana of Siena.
