Published in 1938, while the Spanish Civil War was still going on, this photobook gathers images that are spectacular even today, taken on the Republican side and accompanied by texts by Robert Capa himself, who does not hide his sympathy for the losing side. A facsimile of the original edition, with a layout by André Kertész and photographs by Capa, Chim and Gerda Taro, who died at the battle of Brunete. The pictures, moving and close, follow both the frantic activity of the front and daily life in the cities, ruled by curfews, shortages and uncertainty.
