Ángel Albarrán and Anna Cabrera have been an artistic duo since 1996. Influenced by both Western and Eastern thinkers, directors, writers and artists, they use the medium of photography to question preconceived notions about time, place and identity. "Our goal is to create photographic objects that generate in viewers a personal experience of encountering the border between the real and the unreal. As Else Alfelt stated when describing her experience in front of the mountains: "I think that the mountains are a border between the real and the unreal; they are the place where heaven and earth meet... Nothing here is tied to a specific time, I believe that the world was like this at the beginning and that it will be like this at the end. It is a place of lasting certainty in a world in constant change".
