In this volume Enrico Pantani explores his past through family photo albums. "Sviluppi" is an attempt at inner reconstruction that, starting from family iconography, passes through painting—a tool useful and necessary to remove, to add, and then to return to the present. The artist's paintings—based on childhood photographs of birthday parties, snowmen, beach play with friends and family, holiday photos with father, and adolescent and adulthood portraits—are placed alongside the original snapshots. The painted figures have no faces, evoking universal family portraiture that touches viewers' own distant memories.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
