Nel quasi invisibile emerges within the space where time is organised, fragmented and made legible. The archive is understood not as a simple container, but as an active device that produces reality, determining what can be remembered and what is destined to disappear.
The project exists at the point where the act of looking becomes an act of excavation. Moving through the archive as a stratified field, the photographic practice destabilises the visible order of things, bringing to light latent relationships and marginal details that verge on invisibility. Developed within the Central Institute for Catalogue and Documentation (ICCD) in Rome, the work observes the archive as a complex system suspended between opposing tensions: preservation and destruction, memory and oblivion. In this space, photography does not simply document but intervenes, generating meaning and transforming the author’s presence into a trace.
Alongside an introductory text by the author, the volume includes three critical contributions: a text by Alessandro Coco, scientific advisor and photographer; an essay by Davide Dal Sasso, philosopher and aesthetics researcher at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca; and a contribution by Carlo Birrozzi, director of ICCD Rome.
Nel quasi invisibile originated in 2023 as an experimental thesis project at ISIA Urbino, supervised by photographer and lecturer Luca Capuano. The editorial project eventually took shape in 2025 under the direction of Gazmend Zeneli (Studio JAM), whose design approach reinforces the layered nature of the work by intervening in the material without resolving it, while keeping open the tension between order and accumulation.
