"Since 2007 I have travelled across Tibet many times and in every season. On each journey I have noted many changes in the territory: roads and motorways increasingly cut up the landscapes of the great plateaus. I often thought these changes would serve the Tibetans. They do not: no infrastructure is meant to serve the small towns and camps. Chinese colonisation is ever more obvious in Lhasa, the holy city. This policy comes with the destruction of Tibetan housing, replaced by homes built for the Chinese, and also tends toward the sedentarisation of the nomads of the high plateaus, with the corollary of building new towns."
