The work Marika Bührmann has developed since 1996 interrogates the body and the relationships that can form between two people, the difficulty of communication, the impossibility of not communicating; her artistic proposals put into play the distances that shape individuals psychically while also being fixed by social norms, the creation of a psychic proximity revealing the complexity of exchange, bonding and the constitution of the subject, working in the here and now to show that knowing the other passes through experience and its recognition through exchange, revealing all the fragility of desire.
