A photojournalist represented by the Vu agency, Guy Tillim tries to live from his photography without compromise, combining documentary testimony with the development of a singular photographic aesthetic, liking to present his work as so many possibilities for crossing both physical and spiritual borders; in the early 1990s he covered the wars in Angola and Afghanistan and, more recently, Rwanda. This book casts a look at past events in the Democratic Republic of Congo between the Belgian king Léopold II and dictator Mobutu.
