A collective work edited by Léa Bismuth with Mathilde Girard, gathering writers, philosophers and artists including Anne-Lise Broyer, Antoine d'Agata, Georges Didi-Huberman, Jean-Luc Nancy and Jérôme Zonder around the labour, the toil, of images: wanting to put everything into a book, to make something of the present's chaos, images whispering in our ears, some striking, others still at work. The book follows the curatorial project La Traversée des Inquiétudes, led by Bismuth at Labanque de Béthune from 2016 to 2019 and freely inspired by Georges Bataille's thought, though it is not that exhibition's catalogue.
