On the horizon of a fleeing street, the marks left on a graffitied wall or the closed face of a motionless pedestrian, Jean-Pierre Favreau questions the City. Multiple and diverse, it remains here one and singular: there is no need to know whether we are in New York, Havana, Brest or Lisbon, we are travellers of the edges and fringes, at the border of light and dark, where the thin thread linking each city is a moment of bewilderment glimpsed in an attitude, a trace of darkness met at a street corner, a shaft of light caught at the foot of a building.
