In 2023 Anne Rearick spent several weeks in the Auvergne among its people, their animals and their landscapes, her photography describing and celebrating with delicacy the everyday experience of the worlds she immerses herself in. Free of any overarching agenda, she lets each subject express themselves in turn through gaze, posture and gesture, reconnecting with a deeply humanist photography that never looks inward for ego or identity but goes out to meet the other as an equal, carrying the same generous outlook she has brought to subjects in the United States, South Africa, the Basque Country and elsewhere.
