The title, Au bord de l'eau, nods to Shui-hu-zhuan, the celebrated Chinese classic recounting the adventures of 108 outlaws holed up in the marshes of Mount Liang, chosen for its resonance with the site of Maubuisson Abbey and its own history, where Samakh's sound-and-light installations merge with the landscape.
