"This is Toronto fifty years ago. The appearance of people has changed little, smoking is not as common, there were no computers; the cars and telephones are the greater visual cues. But it is a very different world we live in today." The author, born in Britain, emigrated to Canada with his parents in 1952 and later worked as a photographer for a daily paper for more than thirty years; these early frames give a glimpse of the changing social and cultural fabric of the city during a time of transformation.
