"As a freelance photographer working in London in the 1980s I needed a base. I bought a semi-derelict house in Stoke Newington, then a socially mixed and wonderfully evolving area and part of the larger borough of Hackney. In between professional assignments and amateur house renovation I continually walked the local streets and made many photographs. This is a selection."
