“The illustrations in this book by Moshtari were inspired by images from Lukas Birk's archive of large format negatives taken at photo studios in Peshawar in the 1960s and 70s, and transformed into woodblocks. The stories accompanying the images are fictional narratives Lukas created over the course of one month during his afternoon coffee routine.”
