From the Myanmar Photo Archive

The first book of an ongoing series. The pictures were taken by various studios downtown — Bellay Photo Studio, run by Har Si Yone, Central Studio, Queen Studio, Latha Studio and others whose names can no longer be traced. All of them belong to the Myanmar Photo Archive, which focuses on the practice of Burmese operators during and after the colonial period. Three hundred and sixty-four portraits, all made in a single year.
