An exploration of the haunting question why — a question the artist has grappled with for over a decade following the suicide of a close friend. The project goes deep into mental health, into societal attitudes towards suicide, and into the often silent cries for help that go unnoticed. It gathers landscapes, sites and environments in various places around the world where suicides have occurred, framing them as symbols of solitude and questioning rather than only as places of tragedy, and encouraging reflection on the narratives that surround mental illness.
