Interview with Yvette Néliaz
Accounts by Mimi, Stanislas Colodiet and Smith
French

The archive of a night that has been going on for more than twenty years. It gathers the photographic and video work of Yvette Néliaz, a central figure of the alternative cultures and creative margins of the early two thousands.

Armed with the first digital tools, she caught the present at the moment it was being made: scenes as they emerged, communities of the night, gestures that lasted an evening, identities put together out of whatever was at hand, fragments of life captured and then put out on the first internet platforms. Of those thousands of images — still, moving, spoken — a considerable holding remains, fragile and alive, sitting on hard drives and on her own site.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
