Ghilardi recorded with his camera emblematic instants in the lives of directors and actors caught in the rehearsals not of a film but of plain survival.

The results are memorable snapshots, in that they sum up in exemplary fashion the states of mind, the rare moments of joy and the many uneasy ones of a period we would never have wanted to know but will remember for ever. If suspension seems the common denominator of all of them, it is for the cathartic sense of waiting for a world finally freed from the epidemic.
