The fruit of a campaign carried out by Massimo Listri, the volume sets out the history, the architecture and the art treasures of this celebrated sixteenth-century residence.

A small jewel among the hills that look onto Ravina di Trento, the summer house was built by the Basso family of Bergamo in the middle of the sixteenth century. Its interiors are frescoed with sequences depicting the twelve months, scenes from the Old and New Testament and the military exploits of the emperor Charles V. Returned to its former splendour by its new owners, it is open to visitors.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
